Free Pattern – Triangle Motif

Love the Granny Square, but why always square lets try some new shape. The  technique is same but in an triangle  shape. Make multiple and join to make a rug, blanket, liner, bag etc

In this post we are are sharing the pattern and details which will help you to make your own crochet triangular motif

Material :

  • Crochet Thread Size of 20 preferably of 2 colors
  • Hook Size of 1.25 mm

Abbreviations

  • sc – single crochet
  • ch – chain
  • dc- double crochet
  • ss – slip stitch
  • sp – space
  • trtr CL treble cluster crochet
  • dtr Double Treble Crochet.
  • tr – triple crochet

 

Procedure:

Color A for making the central floral portion.

Foundation ring: Using A, make 4ch and join in with a ss in first ch to form a ring.

Round 1 : 3 ch (counts as 1 dc and 3 ch), *[1 dc in ring, 2 ch] 5 times, join with a ss in 3rd of 5-ch at beg of round. Fasten off A.  Cont in rounds with RS always facing you.

Round 2: Join  with a ss in top of any dc, *5ch, 3 trtr CL in next 2-ch sp, 5ch, 1dc/rf around next tr from previous Round; rep from * 5 times more, join with a ss in same sp as joining st. Fasten off.

Color B for outer border

Round 3: Join MC with a ss in top of any 3trtrCL from previous Round, 7ch (counts as 1dtr and 3ch), 1dtr in same st (corner), *3ch, 1trtr in next dc/rf, 3ch, 1dc in next 3trtrCL, 3ch, 1trtr in next dc/rf, 3ch, [1dtr, 3ch, 1dtr] (corner) in next 3trtrCL; rep from * once more, 3ch, 1trtr in next dc/rf, 3ch, 1dc in next 3trtrCL, 3ch, 1trtr in next dc/rf, 3ch, join with a ss in 4th of first 7-ch.

Round 4: Ss in next 3-ch sp, 6ch, (counts as 1tr and 3ch), 2tr in same ch sp (corner), *[1tr in next st, 3tr in next ch sp] 4 times**, 1tr in next st, [2tr, 3ch, 2tr] in corner sp*; rep from * to * once more, then work from * to **, 1tr in same place as ss at end of  Round 3, 1tr in same sp as ss at beg of round, join with a ss in 3rd of first 6-ch. 21 tr on each side of triangle.

Round 5: Ss in next 3-ch sp, 6ch (counts as 1tr and 3ch), 2tr in same ch sp (corner), *1tr in each tr to next corner sp, [2tr, 3ch, 2tr] in corner sp; rep from * once more, 1tr in each tr to next corner, 1tr in same place as ss at end of Round 4, 1tr in same corner sp as ss at beg of round, join with a ss in third of first 6-ch. 25 tr on each side of triangle.
Fasten off.

Tip:

Each side of the triangle will measure the same and it’s important to keep an eye on the stitch count along each side so that it does not go out of shape.
