Free Pattern- Floral Doily

Doilies are great for beginners because they work up quickly and don’t require much yarn. Great for gift giving and doing your own home decorating,

Crochet doilies are also wonderful for adding a vintage touch to your home decor.  You can place them under a potted plant or a vase for a lovely table accent that will give your room a whole new look.  You could even turn crocheted doiles into bowls, table runners, or wall art. The possibilities are endless.

Material :

  • Crochet Thread Size of 20
  • Hook Size of 1.25 mm

Abbreviations

  • sc – single crochet
  • ch – chain
  • ss – slip stitch
  • sp – space
  • tr – triple crochet

Procedure:

Cluster: Work 1tr into each of next 5tr until 1loop of each remains on hook, there will be 6 loops on the hook, pass the thread through all the 6 loops to form 1 cluster.

Picot: ch 3, insert hook into back bar of the first chain, yo, pull through all loops on hook.

To start make a chain of 8, sl st into first ch to form a ring.

1st Round: 9ch (count as 1tr, 5ch), into ring, work (1tr, 5ch) 6 times, sl st in the 1st tr. Completing the first round.

2nd Round: Sl st into first 5ch arch, 4ch (count as 1st), work 6r into same arch, work 7tr into each next 6 arches, sl st into 4th of 4ch at bag of round.

3rd Round: 4ch (count as 1tr), work 1tr into each for next 6tr, 5ch, (1tr into each of next 7tr, 5ch).6 times, sl st into 4the of 4ch and beg of round.

4th Round: Sl st into next 1tr, 4ch, 1tr into each of next 4tr until 1 loop of each remains on the hook pull through all 5 loops on hook (1 cluster made at beg of round), 6ch, 1sc into next 5ch arch, (6ch, skip 1tr, work 1 cluster across next 5tr, 6ch, 1sc into next 5ch arch) 6 times, 3ch, 1dc into top of first cluster.

5th Round: 1ch, 1sc into arch just formed, (8ch, 1sc into 6ch arch) 14 times, 4ch, 1tr into first sc.

6th Round: 1ch, 1sc into arch just formed, 9ch, (1sc into next 8ch, arch, picot, 9ch) 14  times, sl st into first sc. Fasten Off.
