Floral Lace Mini Doily

Doilies are simple and fun crochet projects. Great for gifting and adding some vintage looks to your own homes. Multiple use of these crochet dollies like palce it under a flower vase, use as a coaster, frame it. The list is endless.

If you want to give your doilies a more modern look, use brightly colored yarn or multi-colored yarn to create a look that’s fun and funky!

Supply List for Floral Lace Mini Doily:

• Yarn or Crochet Thread: You can use just about any size fiber to make this project. We have used Anchor Size 10
• Crochet Hook Size: To crochet the flower, we used a size I.25mm crochet hook.
• Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Finished Size:

The flower measures about 6.0 inches in diameter. Doilie sizes will vary based on supplies used and other factors.

General Direction:

Using the Lacy Motif –

Unlike most crochet patterns, this pattern has no gauge, no thread requirement and no hook sizes.

That’s because you can vary the size and appearance of each motif to fit the needs of your project. If the motif is for a bedspread, you could choose size 5 cotton thread and an appropriate hook, the same motif could be made with size 10 cotton thread and a similar hook for a doily.

When choosing the thread and hook for your project experiment with a variety of threads to achieve the appearance and texture that pleases you.

Pattern Stitches for Floral Lace Mini Doily:

Beginning Cluster (beg CL)

Ch 2, keeping last lp of each dc on hook, dc I 2 sts indicated, YO and draw through all 3 lps on hook – beg CL made.

Cluster (CL)

Keeping last lp of each dc on hook, dc in 3 sts indicated, YO and draw through all 4 lps on hook – CL made.

Triple Crochet Cluster (trc CL)

Keeping last lp of each trc on hook, 3 trc in sp indicated; YO and draw through all 4 lps on hook – trc CL made

Details Instructions for the Floral Lace Mini Doily:

To begin work 8 ch on hook form a ring with 1 sl st in first ch

ROUND 1:

Ch 1, 12 sc in ring, join in first sc.

ROUND 2:

Ch 3 (count as a dc on this and following rnds), dc in same sc; 2 dc in each rem sc; join in 3^rd ch of beg ch-3 . 24 dc.

ROUND 3:

Beg CL (see pattern Stitches) over same ch as joining and next 2 dc; *ch 9, CL (see pattern stitches) over same st as last dc worked and next 2 dc; rep from * 9 times more; ch 9, CL over same dc as last dc worked, next dc and same ch as joining of Rnd 2, ch 9, join in top of beg CL- 12 ch-9 sps.

ROUND 4:

Sl st in next 5 chs of next ch-9 sp, ch 12 (count as a dc and a ch-9 sp); *in 5^th ch of next ch-9 sp work (dc,ch-5, sc in 4^th ch from hook, ch 1, dc); ch -; rep from *10 times more; dc in same ch as beg ch-12 made, ch 5, sc in 4^th ch from hook, ch 1; join in 3^rd ch of beg ch-12.

ROUND 5:

Sl st in next 5 chs of next ch-9 sp, ch 1, sc in same ch; ch 11, (sc in 5^th ch of next ch-9 sp, ch 11) 11 times; join in first sc.

ROUND 6:

Sl st in next xh-11 sp, ch 1, 7 sc in same sp; *# ch 3, trc in last sc made, ch 5, sc in last trc made, ch 3, sl st in same sc as last trc made, 6 sc in same ch-11 sp #, 7 sc in next sh-11 sp; rep from * 10 times more, then rep from # to # once; join in first sc.

ROUND 7:

Sl st in next 3 sc, ch 9, sk next ch-3 sp, trc CL (see Pattern Stitches) in next ch-5 sp,* # ch 3, trc CL in same ch-5 sp, ch 5, sc in 4^th ch from hook, ch 1, in same ch-5 sp work (trc CL, ch 3, trc); ch 5, sk next 2 sc #, keeping last lp of each trc on hook, trc in next sc, sk next 6 sc, trc in next sc, YO and draw through all 3 lps on hook, ch 5, sk next ch-3 sp, trc CL in next ch-5 sp; repfrom * 10 times more, then rep from # to # once; keeping last lp of trc on hook, trc in next sc, sl st in 4^th ch of beg ch-9 and draw lp through both lps on hook,

Fasten off; use the Tapestry needle to weave the ends.
