How to Crochet Heart-Shaped Coaster – Free Pattern & Instructions by Avyastore.

Today I am in a romantic mood and planning to do some crochet that symbolizes love. Ok! I am talking about the heart shape a universal symbol of love. As the wedding season is at its peak in my home-town, many friends have ordered heart-shaped coasters, keychains as souvenirs. 

Happy to share the heart-shaped coaster pattern from the long list. The coaster is perfect for decorating your tea tables for a romantic evening. 

The pattern requires thick yarn. Yarns of 3ply and above are best for working along with a suitable hook. 

Material required for making the Crochet Heart-Shaped Coaster.

Worsted Yarn 4ply (Colour used is navy blue). 

3.25 mm aluminium hook.

Scissors.

Stitch guide and Special stitch instructions.

Ch = Chain stitch.

sl st = Slip stitch. 

sc = Single crochet.

hdc = half double crochet.

dc= Double crochet. 

* = Repeat from the point.

1. The pattern is for beginners with simple instructions.
2. Ch2 at the beginning of the round is considered as dc.
3. The total number of rounds is five.

Instruction for making the Crochet Heart-Shaped Coaster.

Round 1

1. Make a Magic Ring.
2. Ch2, 11 dc, sl st to close

Round 2

1. Ch 2, 2 dc in each of the previous round dc.
2. 23 dc at the end of the round,sl st to close the round.

Round 3 

1. Ch 2, 2dc in the same stitch, 1 dc in next stitch.
2. Repeat to end the round.

Round 4

1. sl st in the same stitch.
2. 1 sc, in the next stitch (1 hdc, 1 dc).
3. 2 dc in the same stitch. Repeat more four times.
4. In the next two stitches make 1 dc each.
5. In the next two stitches make 1 hdc each.
6. 4 sc in next four stitches.
7. For the tip -1 hdc,1 dc, 3 dc (in the same stitch).
8. Continue 1 dc, 1 hdc, 4 sc,2 hdc, 2dc, five times 2 dc in each stitch, 1 dc and 1 hdc in the same stitch.
9. For closing 1 sc,sl st to close the round.

Round 5

1. sl st twice.
2. 1sc, 1hdc
3. In the next stitch 2 hdc, 1dc.
4. Five times 2 dc in the same stitch.
5. 3 dc, 2 hdc, 10 sc.
6. Above the 3 dc centre make 2 sc.
7. Continue with 10 sc, 2hdc, 3 dc.
8.  Five times 2 dc in the same stitch.
9. In the next stitch 2 hdc, 1dc.
10. 1sc, 1hdc
11. sl st twice to close the round.

Fasten Off.

Use the pattern to make pin pillows.

Then the pattern is also used to make heart-shaped cushions pins holder. To make the same make two numbers of the hearts then join them, stuff some cotton or scrap yarn.
