The Old Fashioned Crochet Dollies – Free Pattern

The trend for crocheted lace in general and for dollies in particular soon ran its course. It became cheaper and quicker to purchase machine made lace ,and home decor no longer featured dollies on every table.

Fashions however, have a strange  way of reappearing – often in a new guise. With the new popularity for handmade items, especially crochet lace of all kinds, the simple doily has once again found favor. No longer necessarily found under lamps or covering trays as in the past. The doily today is often framed as a work of art.Now the old leaflets, replete with magnificent designs and instructions, have become collector’s items.

Today I would share two patterns of dollies that are simple and have a style of vintage touch.
